    Ah. I see:

That looks much better! I'd also like to know if lock-tight would work.

Perhaps the holes can be counter sunk a little more too. Rogue's look a bit deeper:

Yeah, I just meant like if you were that worried about the screws protruding or anything. I've not made any adjustments to my j-hooks.

Do they protrude because they're not countersunk properly, or because they loosen up and back out over time? I was assuming the latter.

You can buy a cheap rack for just over $300(Atlas/Titan from Amazon), a serviceable barbell for $130 (Cap OB-86B, Amazon), and a couple hundred pounds of used iron plates on Craigslist (Craigslist). A good enough bench for about $100 (Adidas "Dumbbell bench" with 600 lb capacity also Amazon), but for ~$200 you can get a better one from Rogue. Do you need to build a platform, or are you just going to put down a horse stall mat or two ($40 each at Tractor supply)?
This (including the Titan rack off eBay) was the route I took. I got the Rogue bench, however. I'd guess I have about eight hundred in the rack, the bench, two olympic barbells, 450 pounds of bumper plates, a set of fractional plates, and a band.

I'm quite happy with all of it, especially the results it let me achieve. And I can rest as long as I want to between sets.

They protruded when I got it, I screwed them in all the way, and have never dealt with it again. But, the "UMHW" doesn't cover the entire jhook, and shifts around a little.

I had a single screw on a Rogue J-Hook come like this. Didn't realize it until after it scuffed the bar once, but I managed to sink it fully with an allen wrench and it's been fine ever since.

I'm seriously considering selling my Tuff Stuff rack for something I can actually find accessories like additional J-hooks/plate storage for.

My budget is basically "whatever I can sell my Tuff Stuff rack and bench for", and the Titan HD 2x3 rack appears to fit nicely into that ballpark. Other than the J-hook plastic being somewhat questionable, is there any reason not to pick up the latest version of the Titan?

I don't think so. Everyone says it's solid for the money. I personally went with the R3 though.
