Default Caesarian section recovery & return to strength training?

    Good Afternoon All,

My wife gave birth by caesarian 3 1/2 weeks ago, and is itching to return to strength training.

What would be the general consensus for the minimum time that she'd need for recovery? As it's quite a significant op.

She has not trained for 9months as she stopped training (when found she was pregnant as she was petrified she would negatively impact her pregancy).

Doctors gave her a generic estimate of 6 weeks until exercising, but i doubt that they would be expecting her to want to squat, deadlift etc.

    Any help would be appreciated.

My wife started training again at 6 weeks. Very lightly and slowly. She could tell if she needed to lighten up or could push. It's definitely a major deal, so you shouldn't take what I say as advice. Just her experience.

The transverse incision doesn't disrupt the biomechanics of the abdominal wall because it follows the orientation of the aponeurotic fibers, so, at least in theory, she would be able to resume her training once the discomfort ceases.
