    Monday 9/7

    Happy Labor Day

Squat - took off today to nurse a sore thigh. Just did my warm set. The leg is still kinda sore. Not bad but feeling going up and down stairs.

    45x2x5
    75x1x5
    95x1x3
    110x1x2

Press - Finally beat the 132.5 marks, new 5RM 132.5x3x5

Cleans - these are still feeling sloppy. I am having trouble getting under the bar after the second pull. I thing the main issue is flexibility.

Squat - 230x3x5 new 5RM Felt good but heavy. Had that sensation of my hearing going away on the lifts. I have read that this is common.

No thigh pain during lifts but was somewhat sore later that evening and this morning. I think this is being caused by my knees moving out at the bottom, as explained in SS. I was trying to be very aware of my knee position and it seems to have helped.

Bench - 180x3x5 Focusing on form and keeping bar speed as high as possible.

Dead Lift - 280x5 These were technically not a 1x5 set. I was able to get a the first 3 as a set but had to stop and change to alternating grip and catch my breath for 4 and 5. The time between 3, 4, and 5 was no more than about 20 or 30 secs though.

    Friday 9/11

Squat - 235x5, 235x3 bailedx5 That damned thigh stared up again. I think it is a tendonitis between the iliac crest and the hip joint on the right side. I felt is start to complain during the warm up at 185#. Got a little worse during the first work set and really started fussing during the second.

I figured discretion being the better part of valor, should give it the weekend off.

Press - 133.75 2x5 1x4 This was a great victory for me. This is a new 5RM for me and those have been hard to come by.

Cleans - 140x3 then could not rack after that. Not sure what the deal was, probably thinking about the thigh. I had no explosion at all.

Squats 235# 1x5 leg felt good but held back to one set just to be sure I didn't stress it again. Will work up to 3x5 this week.

Bench press 182.5x3x5 working back up after a reset. Bar speed good but felt heavier than I would have thought since my 5RM was 202.5.

Dead Lift was good at 285. working up from a reset.

Took some time off due to life. The rest was evidently needed. This workout felt very strong.

Squat 235x3x5 felt like I could have gone heavier with no problem. No leg pain either.

Press 135x5 135x2x4 This was a new 5RM. I was actually surprised I did this well. I had been suck at 132.5 for three workouts after resetting and broke through to 133.75 on 9/11. I figured going to 135 would be tough since I have been micro-loading with 1.25#/workout for a while. But was very happy to see a 5/4/4.

Power Cleans 135x5x3 Felt much better, technique wise.

My work out got cut short due to the twins waking up, they are 6 months old, and my 3 yo son needing help getting to bed. So I only got my squat work out completed. But that's OK, it was a new 5 RM.

Squats 240x3x5 Felt good but heavy bar speed on the last rep of sets 3 and 4 was very slow.

Thanks! Yep, with young ones it is often hard getting that full nights rest.

There has been so much going on my workout schedule is all messed up. Should be able to get back on schedule next Monday.

Squat 245 3/1/1 looks like I am getting ready for a reset. But I have a cold this week also, we'll how Monday goes.

Bench 185x3x5 Did a reset recently so working back up to 5RM of 202.5.

Deadlift 190x5 Did a reset recently so working back up to 5RM of 310.
