That sounds like a good idea, one relatively heavy compound lift and a moderate accessory lift per workout. Us older guys have limited recovery

    DL 115/5 135/5 185/2 205/ 5 5 8 no belt on any.
    bb row 115/5 135/5 145/5 5 8
    Hang leg raise 15
Two sets on the leg press.
Doing a rep scheme from what I read on Johhny Pains Strenght villain . 2 sets of five and last set AMRAP. I was going to do either Backoff sets or a progression from BB prescription. But this way seems easier to keep track of.
Hoping I can progress a little as I continue to try and drop some weight.

Hey Jerry, was reading through your log and notice you call out "with belt" and "without belt" on some exercises. Why skip the belt when you have one? For me, it means I can lift less weight, and my goal is always more. What's the motivation?

Hi Mike, the reason I don't always use the belt is that when I started to train I was influenced by the training methods of Dr.Ken E. Leistner,a name well known in the lifting community. His idea was little to use the.belt only when doing a weight that challenged you. Later on I did train at his Iron Island Gym. Most of the time unless prepping for a meet he also advocated short rest times between sets and exercises. You can.google his
name, he is as outrageous as Ripp in all.respects. I actually found.out.about SS when my son sent me a clipping showing.Ripp.visiting.Dr.Kens home.based.facility which. Is.located about 3 miles from.my house. I like to.use the belt on DL over 225 and should use it.for.sqts over 135. I really need to.work on longer.rest.times between sets.Reading the SS books seems to.advocate that.

Next week will be a busy week for me so I plan on training just two times.I have been looking at some of the WO's from the Barbell Prescription and will base what I do along those lines.
