I've been at my mom's since last Sunday, and on Monday and Tuesday loaded all of my remaining gym equipment into a U-haul truck for the trip to Vermont. I had a friend help me the first day, then my 14 year old grandson on the second day. Both days were grueling with the 90 degree heat and humidity. We loaded over 2000 lbs of weight, consisting of numerous York, Billard, Jackson, and Iron Man vintage plates. Also a large set of vintage York solid dumbbells from 10 to 55 pounders. In addition, we had one of the original York curling stands, a leg ext./curl bench, vertical leg press, dipping bars, plate trees, and a large assortment of barbell and dumbbell bars. After two days of loading, I drove up to Vermont with the help of my uncle and grandson, then had to unload everything into a large storage unit. Once again, it was hot and humid, but we unloaded it all in less than an hour, though I'm sure a couple of us were close to suffering heat stroke. After spending one night, we drove back to my mom's yesterday, and I'll be heading back to Vermont this Sunday, with the task of organizing the storage unit ahead of me. I will be taking it a little bit at a time!

I got my last workout in last Sunday, before heading to my mom's, and it went pretty well.

Well it seems you got a good workout in. Moving is a good excuse to take a break from "lifting" .

I'm still working on helping my mom clean out her house, the closing should happen in about a month. A lot of traveling back and forth from Northern Vermont to central NY, back in Vermont for the week right now, and had a good workout this morning.

I've been working off and on this week, organizing all the equipment I brought up last week, so I took an extra day of rest. I ended up having a very satisfying workout this morning.

Another good workout today, the new plan seems to be working well, and I'm trying to keep the workouts down to five main exercises.

I was on my way to the gym this morning, when my younger (40) son called to tell me he tore a bicep while tearing down an old house on property he bought last year. He was on his way to orthopedics when he called, and no doubt will need surgery. I've suffered a couple minor bicep strains myself in the last few years, but luckily avoided a total tear. I'll be going down to visit next week, so should be able to catch up with him and the family. My workout this morning went well, again, and I'm making nice steady progress.

It's always something. I hope the tear is not to bad.

I had another unexpected setback last week. I woke up sick last Tuesday morning... stomach pains, headache, later in the day fever, chills and cold sweats. I spent the last half of the day in bed, but wasn't getting any better. Ended up driving myself into the ER at about 2 am. After blood work, abdominal scan, and fluids, everything came back normal. They told me it might be either a GI virus, or food related. I figure it was the virus. It took me the next two days before I started feeling better on Friday. I ended up losing about four pounds, and took my first (brief) workout today. I dropped my weights but they still felt heavy. One more light workout this week, and I should be feeling better by next week.
