45yr Old's Second Run at LP
An Introduction and a little about myself.
My name is Scott, I live in Sydney Australia.
I am 45 yrs old, 175cm and tip the scales at an incredible 70kgs!
I've always been skinny, was one of the smallest in class all the
way through school. An active job,plenty of beer and never eating
enough have left me skinny with a bit of a belly for most of my Adult
life!
I was diagnosed with stage4 bowel cancer at 27, underwent major
surgery plus chemotherapy and somehow managed to survive.
At 38 I became a father to a beautiful little girl, who I began having trouble
picking up and throwing around a couple of years ago and during my search for
a solution to that problem I came across Starting Strength.
I ran through an Initial LP without power cleans for the first 6 months of 2016
My totals were
Squat 102.5kg 3x5
Bench 59kg 3x5
Press 46kg 3x5
D/Lift 120kg 1x5
Basicaly I did it wrong and burnt myself out, didn't eat enough, poor recovery due to a physical
job, adding too much weight and lack of sleep(the chemo left me with some
nerve damage which causes permanent twitching in my calf muscles,which
wakes me during the night).
I'm blaming the piss poor bench number on the fact
that I have no chest!
Anyway, I am going to run through it again, using smaller increments sooner,
2 days off between training, bringing a light day in sooner on the squats and
trying to eat more. Can't do anything about the job or sleep so will just have
to put up with that.

Squats went up well, felt lighter than
the previous 2 workouts, twinge in right
Knee cap was present for the 1st set then
disappeared.

Ditched power cleans, going to do chins instead.
