Hey Shug, congrats on that weight loss, and I hope that injury you suffered awhile back is coming along. I watched your axle clean and press video, and it reminded me that I haven't used my fat bar in months. My bar is a little thicker (2.5") than yours, but I'm gonna use it again in the next week or two. Gotta admit, I kinda miss using it occasionally.

Thank you my friend! It really feels great to be lighter and be able to see my abs again. My lower back is still not 100%,
but is way better than I thought it would be after 6 months. I like Cleans & Presses (or Jerks) with the old 2" Axle Bar. I
would like to eventually put 200 pounds overhead with it. Your 2.5" Bar is a real monster, that must really tax the grip!
Good luck training with that Beast! Stay Strong!!

My bar weighs 56 lbs empty and it definitely does work the grip. I used to use it pretty regularly for presses, curls, reverse curls (very tough) and holds for time. I really need to get back to that work. One of these days I'll have to see what I can deadlift with it, but with a double overhand grip! That should be interesting.

Wow, your Bar is a Beast! Mine weighs 16 Lbs, and I also have a 3" Bar that weighs 36 Lbs. I haven't used the 3" for so long
that I forgot I had it! Both of mine were made by a friend of mine that does fabrication and welding. The 3" bar actually
has a 2" bar that runs all the way through it. Stay Strong!!

Nice work. About thick bars, Dr. Ken had wrote an article about thick bar training many years ago. At his gym he has a few different diameter bars. One was rackable 3" bar that was used for the bench press. It sure worked the stabilizers. I sometimes do rows and DL using the 2" bar on my farmers walk implement,it's always good to get some extra grip work in
