    9-12-2024 Thursday

    weight 201

    Bench
    040-8
    090-4
    120-4
    160-2
    180-2

I planned to do more but got so lazy after the benches I could only do a few lateral raises. Still a good day. 2x2 PR I think.

Hey Fred, I haven't used a slingshot in a long time, and it'll take some getting used to, anything to get me back over 200, even if just a little. Funny story about the slingshots (I have two, L and XL). I found them in a Goodwill store, and they didn't know what they were worth, got both for $5! Hope you get that medical issue resolved, your solid benching keeps me motivated to move mine back up. I've always had a tough time with bench, being 6' with a 76" wingspan probably hasn't helped. I have much better luck squatting and deadlifting.

I would definitely try a slingshot for $5. You got a great deal.

I hope my medical issue gets resolved too. It's not fun knowing something can just pop up randomly.

You will get that bench up. Just keep working at it. On the other hand your squat and deadlift are great. If my squats could hover around 220 for solid sets of 3-5 I would be happy.

    9-15-2024 Sunday

    weight 202

    Bench
    040-8
    090-4
    120-4
    160-2
    180-2
    200-1
    205-1

    Block pulls
    135-4
    205-3
    255-3
    295-3
    255-5

Too soon after poor sleep last 2 nights and only 2 days since last bench day. Left shoulder complaining. 205 felt like 220 all of a sudden. Next time I need to have another days rest. Still learning patience.

The block pulls had reps left especially the backoff set at 255. This bodes well for further progression after lowering the blocks one and a half inches not too long ago.
