I guess that's why they call us geezers now Jerry. It is nice to look back sometimes. For now the goal is for squats to pass the bench and get the rep sets for both over 200 lbs.

    Getting cold up there yet?

Yes it has got to almost freezing at night.
Its smart to know when to cut a session short. A few years ago I had got my bench to the 16O's pushed for another rep and felt something in my shoulder, it was months before I could even pour a drink from a bottle.

Wouldn't you know it. I forgot you were in this General area.

Regarding Squats: I finally gave up on the straight bar. I just could not get the bar lower than my neck and even then only my finger tips "grasped" the bar. The safety bar allows me to squat with a pretty close proximity to a low bar back squat. Have you tried a safety bar?

You said at one time that you were going to visit with an SS coach. Have you taken that opportunity yet?

Hey Carson. No coach yet. Gotta get more time and I can wait until I get a bit stronger and this damn virus shit loosens up. Right now it looks like it's getting worse. and I avoid being around people like...well..the plague.

Regarding Squats: I am sorry to hear that you gave up on the straight bar squat. I have to grip the bar with about half of two fingers but it's a good grip and it feels secure. I can get the bar all the way down to the low position very well. Still I have to move my shoulders carefully. It's hard to believe how tough squats are now that I am an old fart. But the squats are still going up 5 pounds a workout and chasing my bench which keeps creeping up. I have only used a regular bar.

Thanks. It seems like I am progressing slow but steady.
