Benched with the crew today. Great day overall.
I missed 365 and then I missed 355. Should have went 355 first but there was a slight chance of 365. O-well.
Connor did great and hit 6 triples with 135 today.
Billy smashed a 405 reverse grip single.
    Great Christmas Eve session.

First session in the basement today!

Sea Saw db presses (seated shoulder press but both arms are going at the same time, opposite directions)
    10s x 25
    15s x 25
    20s x 25
    25s x 25

Seated barbell press, behind the head
    bar x 10
    65 x 10
    85 x 10
    95 x 10
    115 x 10
    135 x 7

    Pin presses
    95 x 3
    115 x 3
    135 x 3
    hung 25lbs DBs with bands for 185 x 3, 3, 3

LOL, limited weight at the moment so just playing around. Felt good. Haven't trained in a basement for decades! Kinda fun.

    Psyched.
467.5 pounds of plates from StrengthCo are now on their way to my basement.
    Pretty excited.

Slacking on the training over vacation week and getting the stuff set up in the basement and my son, etc.

Today we benched however and only 1 other guy showed up today.
I worked up easy and then did 2x2 at 325 and it was way heavier than it should have been.
Then I hit some machine presses for 3 good working sets of 15, 15 and 13ish.

    Connor did 135 x 5, 140 x 3, 140 x 3 and 135 x 3
then he went on his own and did some more chest work.

Billy hit 375 x 2, 3 and he may have had a 4th on that second set (reverse grip of course). LOL monster.

Basement is set up for the moment and I am giving some thought to running a modified Texas Method. Not saying I will, but saying I'm thinking about it...

    Basement session:
    Squats
    95 x 5
    135 x 5
    185 x 5
    225 x 5
    275 x 3
    325 x 2
    375 x2, 2
    225 x 5
    135 x 5

    and that was it.
weird training down there on a big lift. Just different looking in different places during the lift, not doing the same thing between sets etc.
    I liked it though.

So Connor wanted to head into the gym tonight and I wasn't going to say no, so off we went.
My legs are pretty sore from the squats yesterday so I just did some curls.
    Alt db:
    25s x 15
    35s x 15
    45s x 12, 12, 12

    rope hammer curls
    60 x 15
    80 x 15
    100 x 15

and that was it for me.

    Good basement session.
warm up with some bodyweight squats and toe touches
    Deadlifts:
    135 x 5
    185 x 5
    225 x 5
    275 x 5
    315 x 5
    365 x 5, 5

    Goblet Squats
    24kg 5 sets of 15 reps

Felt good. Rearranged my stuff in the basement twice today, lol.
Just trying to figure out the best angles for some video and for loading plates without bumping into the poles.
Suppoed to be a decent snow storm rolling through so our gym is closed tomorrow. So, it looks like dead bench in the basement...

    warm up with db presses
    25s x 20, 15, 10 and 5 reps

Dead Bench (my safety on the 8th hole) pinky on the ring
    95, 135, 185, 225, 275, 295, 315, 325 all by 1 rep
    335 x miss
    335 x miss drop to 315 x 1

    single arm overhead extension
    20 x 3 sets of 15 reps

Shoulder giant set, rear lateral/side lateral, front raise
    5s x 5 each
    10s x 5 each
    15s x 5 each
    20s x 5 each
    25s x 5 each

Ooph. Very weak on those dead presses, but about right for my current strength level on bench. Not sure why I am so weak on that movement right now. Weighed in this morning at 204.2. I recall benching 320 for a single when I was doing my keto and fasting and weighed around 172 that day. Rough.

Spent the day in VT yesterday picking up a rescue kitty so I didn't get to hit my training.

Today I got to the gym for some dismal bench work.
bunch of warm ups with the bar.
    135 x 5
    185 x 5
    225 x 5
    then the plan was:
    265 x 5
    305 x 3
    325 x 2
But what really happened was this:
    265 x 5
    305 x 2 and I missed the 3rd
    315 x 1, 1, 1

    Inc bench
    135 x 25

    and that was it.

Connor has not been to great for a while now and I am really feeling the stress.
Missing back work all the time is another thing that is not helping out my bench any.
Hopefully we get some answers soon and he gets some help.
