Ha - I thought he was just making it up. Didn't know that was an actual exercise. He just looked really silly grabbing the plates during the lift.

Lots of things are "actual exercises." It doesn't mean they're particularly useful.

Some moron was trying to see how many squat reps he could do without breathing.

I did 295X3 before the O2 ran out.

I've been tempted to try to do slightly lighter squat sets of 5 / amrap without breathing. I've also been really tempted by Rip writing about 20 rep sets. Seem like great endurance tests, and my endurance is crap. If I do this is my linear progression gonna wither and die?

I guess this is a question for programming, but maybe this is just a preview of the post where I write about the schmuck who totally passed out under the bar and actually it was me.

20 rep is hard as fuck. i am 4 weeks into an 8 week program and i just might die this week.

i can't imagine that in 4 weeks i will be doing 120kgs for 20 reps when i struggled with 100kgs last week.

    but try it, its different.

you might make it if you do the gomad but i have my wedding in 4 weeks and need to fit into an expensive suit.

So, 8 weeks of 20 rep squats right before the husbandly demands of your wedding night? Good luck not cramping up during lol

You won't cramp up, but after eight weeks of 20 rep squats, you may just doze off on your wedding night.

But you wouldn't be the first groom to do that, and most of them didn't need to squat to pass out.

I'm worried that after 20 reps on the night you'll be done. You need to start a 300 rep programme

He's planning to do 120kg for 20. Depends on the size of his bride but I would expect he'll be alright.
