I saw a guy in the rack next to me unrack a bar loaded to 55lbs and press it overhead with much difficulty. Just as I was taking note that there was another person pressing in my gym (this is exceptionally rare), he lowered the bar behind his head and proceeded to perform 5 reps of the most awkward 1/3 squats I've ever seen. He leaned forward very slightly while allowing his knees to cave in. That is the entire description of the movement. It was as if the entire range of motion was the result of the knee cave. The set of 5 seemed very difficult. He then pressed the bar back overhead with even more difficulty and racked it. I was expecting him to return to do another set but he never did.

Yep, it's C channel, so one side only.

3/4 of my cats are clicker trained. High five is one of the things.

Hot 19yo female came and asked me for a spot for her squats.

What could I do? Had to help.

Fortunately I didn't get too close to her. She introduced me to her father who was curling at the bench next to us.

Something similar happened to me the other day. I was squatting 200, and he was waiting for the rack. I offered to let him work in, but he looked at my puny weights with contempt and said he was doing "at least 225". The rack next to me opened up, he loaded two plates on each side and proceeded to rapid fire 1/4 squats for about 10 seconds, then stripped the weight and left.

They went from curling in squat racks to curling on benches? Something must be done!
