This reminds me of a doctor we had when I took my wife to the emergency room one time. First, the kid looked like he was Doogie Howser's little brother, and second, the only muscle he had developed was his biceps. There was no definition anywhere else, just these giant biceps. I've never met anyone who skips not just leg day, but also the rest of arm day.

My grandmother would say in response to this:

He does have a funny IG page considering he posts Game of Thrones memes of himself. I was wondering if that was even really him under the armor since it would be cheaper to hire an unknown big dude, but there is a selfie of him with the zombie eyes and face make up.

This may come as a surprise to you, but there is an entire world of strength training outside of Rippetoe and his texts. Maybe, just maybe, he's at the point where he doesn't have to set up like Rip teaches for BEGINNERS. And why would you say no Valsalva? Maybe he doesn't do the whole "take an exaggerated breath while making a funny face". Also to consider, training his deadlifts might look different than a lift in competition.

Most maximal lifts I see around here rarely look like the 'model' from the book.

This should go in the "really makes me mad thread," but I am surprised by coaches at all levels that will see a kid performing a sport with bad form and not correct him. For all the "work hard" and "be tough" that coaches mouth, when it is time to put in some hard work, they too often just slide by.

I'm not criticizing the guy. I guess it's just pointing out impressive feats using different techniques. By contrast, this guy uses a technique more akin to the SS setup, which, given his size compared to others who pull this kind of weight, suggests he has a very efficient method of pulling:

That guy is a fucking freak of nature. He posted a squat video (raw w/ wraps) this morning of a 280kg triple at 86kg BW. I can't understand how that's possible.

that's not even the fucked part, this is
Instagram post: 280kg for a triple on Backsquat: BW at 86kg. This was my 1RM four weeks ago.

    I don't understand how that's possible
I can think of a few things.
    Funny he doesn't really compete.

Yeah, I saw that too. I don't know if he meant that was his true 1RM or just his best single to date. When I squatted 520x3 my best single was 525...wasn't my 1RM though.

    1RM is a 1RM, but I see what you're saying.

My point was, most guys this far along in the rate of adaptation curve thing (flat), going from a 1RM to 3RM would take a good long while, with perfect programming and recovery.

    Dudes a freak
