Question Adding a second row of holes to a prong belt

    Hi all,
I have a standard 3" single prong belt with 1 inch hole spacing. Is it possible/smart to add a second row of holes to make a DIY "Pioneer Cut"? The prong seems to be free enough to go through an off center hole.

Background: this is the belt I started out with and I recently switched to a 3" Pioneer adjustable lever belt because I was always struggling to get the damn belt on and off and also tight enough. I keep being curious about prong belts though and wonder if Pioneer's two row approach would alleviate some of the issues I had.

The problem of course is that a center row of holes already exists, so any new row would have little room on a 3" belt. I worry that this would mess with the belt's material integrity and make it give out at an inopportune moment.

    Has anyone tried this?

You'll have to ask Pioneer. Our belt vendor is Dominion.
