OK fnet, I'll refrain from commenting about Chi-town then especially since it's your log, but as you may have noticed I had plenty of innings and observations of the place as downstate Illinois boy myself. Glad this might have been useful more than anything, because it is very hard (maybe impossible) not to get caught in the middle when the estrogen wars start. A tactical retreat is often necessary and in some instances ended hostilities at our house for a while. You car can be your lifeboat. Just take a drive, find a place where the sun won't be in your eyes and park. Then recline your seat, close your eyes, and think of Switzerland. I spoke with our daughter last night at some length on the phone. To both you and Wayno, it does get better and she proved it. She sees the looming kick in the rear out of the groves of academe and called to let Dearly Beloved know she was buying some clothes to go to interviews in and wanted to give her a heads-up when it showed on the credit card. She has her own account, but we get the statement. She also was asking if I had any word about jobs in aerospace. Stunningly mature and fun to talk to for both me and Dearly Beloved. Normally I don't share this stuff because too many here don't have this to deal with and so don't care. You guys need to know that the pink storm does pass and subside. Maybe not as soon as we might like, but it does happen.
Good luck with your kids and your own Dearly Beloved, fnet.

I lifted weights n' shit today. I could post my pedestrian lifts here but I'd rather log the beer I'm planning on drinking tonight: Three Floyds Robert The Bruce Scottish Ale.

Today's workout: Grip/Forearm work. It's important to keep lots of hand lotion and Kleenex® close to the monitor.

I started this log the day 1 pulled 400 LBS a month before my 45th birthday. My goal was to squat 400 LBS but illness and injury put an end to that. I also feel my squat regressed somewhat on 5/3/1. Just for shits and grins I wanted to see if I could beat my DL number. I hadn't really been training for it. I successfully pulled 410 LBS. I failed at 425 and 415.
I'm still doing autoregulated training.

I was doing the 6 rep version. I just changed to 3 reps after 8 weeks.
I've been keeping my log here: http://www.ampedtraining.com/communi...id=358&page=24
I thought this was very funny:
