No indeed, growing old and being among the last left of family, friends, and some co-workers gets to be wearing.

We had the kung flu twice. The second time after two Pfizers. No big deal either time. But this two week hiatus I forced on myself after figgering out I had been overtraining for some time has been a real test of my ability to NOT get in the gym and lift. Thank goodness I'll be back at it this coming Monday. I'm getting stir crazy.

Stir crazy is the word for it. I still do some volunteer work when not sick. But I can see the day when I must cut back on that. Not because I'm physically weak but because of my slowness and forgetfulness. I'm the oldest survivor of my generation on both sides of my family. It's kind of scary.

I still teach Jujitsu, but I find I have to consult my notes before class the last few months to keep some of the details of the more complex techniques sharp in my mind. Getting up from falls on the mat is not fun, but that's probably a part of the overtraining I subjected myself to. The volunteering I do coaching Special Olympics has taxed me lately and altogether I find myself needing more sleep and naps most days. Again though, that could be a result of the overtraining. I stuck to singles for over a year, maybe two and that was really foolish.

Heard a new Willie Nelson song over the weekend, seriously, a new album at age 89, and one of the songs went "Live each day like it might be your last, because one day you're going to be right"

Sounds like some several things Marcus Aurelius said.
