I have what I assume to be arthritis in my left hand and sometimes in my left knee. It comes off and on. I can usually lift despite it. Today, not so much. My left thumb and main joint would not cooperate but I lifted until I had to stop. Bummer.
Squat stretches.
Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 200 x 2 (this is where it began to affect my lifts); 225 x 3 x 0 x 1 x 0 I could not hold the bar with any strength in my left hand.
Bench: 45 x 5; 95 x 3; 125 x 2; 140 x 0 x 0 I could not hold the bar.
Mama said "there'd be days like this."
If you are preparing for competition (which you are), you are a competitive lifter.
aw nuts. well do what the Dr prescribes!
Strength training has overcome many of the downers attached with aging but sadly, not all of them.
It turned out not to be arthritis. But it still hurt a bit but not like last Friday. I did no squat stretch because that's what caused the problem. I'm not sure what I'll do about it come the Fall Classic. Light day.
Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 202.5 x 5 x 3
Press: 45 x 5; 65 x 3; 85 x 2; 105 x 1; 113 x 1; 79 x 8 x 3
Prowler: 0 x 6 x 1; 85 x 6 x 4
BTW My wife once again achieved 2 prs.
