Could be allergies... causing sinus congestion.
Have you considered those nettie pots? I have allergies and those do wonders for me.
In any case a salt water rinse, if done right, won't hurt anything.

You're right, the earlier stallion was not as strong as you are now. You're upgraded.

Thank you my friend. I have hobbies and they are fine but I really enjoy reading about yours. You are very creative.

I had allergies and was taking medicine for them. Then the sinus surgery seemed to stop them. Thankfully I've stopped coughing or pretty much stopped so we went back to the gym and I lifted some minor stuff. Coughed lightly twice. We both wore a mask today to protect people from whatever we had. I don't think we will need to going into the future.

When we do gym cleaning we play something on Alexa. Often we play Tina Turner's "Simply the Best" and my wife points at me. I claim it does wonders for the plants though I cannot prove it. But it does wonders for me. We played it as I did deadlifts today and my beloved pointed at me. The weights flew off of the floor.

    Squat: Air X 5; 70 x 5; 95 x 5 x 3 all paused. No pain at all.
    Press: 45 x 5 x 2; 65 x 5; 85 x 1; 90 x 1; 75 x 5 x 2 All using strict press form. It seems to work better for me.
    Dead: 135 x 3; 175 x 5 x 2 Simply the best
    Prowler: 30 x 6 x 2

I asked Sully to let me do heavier weights. He said, "No, you will get their in time."

You have way too much faith in "Sully."

Maybe, maybe not. I'm not trying to change tires without a jack and there are no more live competitions. Who knows, I may rebel. Besides, I trust Sully.

We should have virtual meets. Sully operates with a much higher reliability in mind. His clients are older and take longer to heal. This is quite different than the competitive mindset which I've heard expressed "PR or ER". It is not a matter of which one is right... which one best represents your values and objectives at this point in your life.

Since the groin pull is fully healed and my coughing has stopped I will be increasing my weights. I'm certainly not interested in "PR or ER" at our age that is ridiculous. Still light but increased.

    Squat: Air x 5; 70 x 5; 205 x 5 x 3 all paused. I'm consistently at depth. 65 pounds shy of a PR.
    Bench: 45 x 5; 95 x 3; 135 x 1; 150 x 1; 160 x 1; 140 x 5; 140 x 4 Only 26 pounds shy of a PR.
    Dead: 135 x 3; 175 x 2; 205 x 3 x 2 70 pounds shy of a PR.
    Prowler: 45 x 6 x 2

Glad that you're on the mend Carson.

"PR or ER"...never heard that before. Sounds retarded!

As people have told me several times..."Slow but steady".

Exactly! That's the sort of meathead mentality that kept me away from the free weight portion of gyms for too many years.

Did you jump right from 70 to 205 without any other squat warmups? Just curious

Hmm. I think I misstyped. My top weight was 105, not 205. Sorry about that.

I don't think I've ever made that large a jump in reality. I guess that wait for normalcy is getting to me.
