    Hangs

Music — Genesis, Abacab; Spencer Davis Group, Gimme Some Lovin'; The Who, Another Tricky Day; The Beatles, While My Guitar Gently Weeps; Judas Priest, Living After Midnight.

    Notes
    - SQ - Heavy Singles. All good, smooth and controlled. A repeat of my 8/30/22 5x1 PR.
    - Hangs - just doing them before and after the workout. There's a bit of extra tightness after yesterday's Press Heavy Singles. But overall, the shoulder is vastly improved over a month ago.

Music — A suggested playlist for you, Fred & Meshuggah — Monolord, Empress Rising; Electric Wizard, We Hate You; High On Fire, Last; OM, Meditation Is The Practice Of Death; Acid Bath, Finger Paintings Of The Insane; Black Sabbath, Lord Of This World.

    Notes
    - CGBP - Heavy Singles. Since I have never done heavy singles of this Close Grip lift, this is automatically a 5x1 PR. All good, even with little bobbles and slips.
    - OP - Light day. All good.

Good with the PR. That CG would be a good goal for my regular BP at the moment. My bench has really dropped off this summer. My regular grip is only a half inch wider than your close grip. (old shoulders)

Yes...that is a good playlist. Lord Of This World is one of my favorites.

This is one of my favorite covers..Corrosion of Conformity - Lord of This World - YouTube

Thanks Fred. This was my first cycle with the CGBP, and I do think that it had a non-insignificant part in my shoulder getting better over the past month. I'll run the next cycle with it too, then decide if I want to stick with it just because. It's running about 20lbs lighter than my wider grip, but I know that the wider grip will continue to go up as the close-grip goes up.

Thanks for that CoC link. They certainly killed it! And then it sent me down a rabbit hole, starting with 1,000 Homo DJs cover of Supernaut. Just a few months before COVID hit, Ministry (1,000 HDJ & Ministry are both fronted by Alan Jourgensen) was one of the warmup bands on Slayer's farewell tour and they closed with this song. So damn good! Now I'll need to see if I can track down the album at one of the local stores.

Music — 1000 Homo DJs vs Black Sabbath, Supernaut; Ministry, Just One Fix; Dark Funeral vs Slayer, Dead Skin Mask; Mercyful Fate vs Judas Priest, The Ripper; Metallica vs The Misfits, Die Die My Darling.

    Notes
    - DL - Heavy Singles. Both smooth and solid, finally breaking this 2x1 PR set on 7/22/22. I had been having issues with not being able to get the second one moving more than an inch or two, which I discussed with Chase. As I suspected, food was the primary answer. During the last two cycles, I just wasn't shoveling food like the other weeks because it was singles week, not volume weeks. At least, that's what I was telling myself, apparently. So by the time Friday's pulls rolled around, I was stalling. Food. Food is the primary answer. Oh, and 15lb jumps each week, instead of the 20lb jumps that I had been doing (10 reps, 6 reps, 2 reps each week of the cycle necessitates bigger jumps than HLM, etc., programming).
    - SQ - Light day. As always, these sure don't feel light after those heavy pulls. All good.

That Supernaut version is really good.

    Which album are you hunting?

I have always liked these also:

The Nativity In Black compilation of Sabbath covers that your CoC and my 1000 HD covers came from. Apparently there's also a Volume II.
