Did you ever attend a USSF meet in Chicago before they were shut down, we hope temporarily, in 2020? At your strength you would fit right it.

I have never been to a USSF meet, or any meet for that matter. Once things open back up I would certainly give it a try. Other than an informal competition at a local gym, I have never participated in a powerlifting meet.

I really enjoy them. I usually only lift the over head press and the deadlift. But one meets some great people there. We took our oldest client to the last USSF meet, 95 year old John Claassen. He only competed in the deadlift but boy did he get the cheers. A film has been made about him which includes the competition. "Outlifting Life" I think you might enjoy it

That's awesome. The main reason I life weights besides enjoyment is to maintain strength and mobility as I age. I look forward to going to a meet one day soon.

Well, thanks to a minor injury and some draconian measures implemented by local government I'm just getting back to the gym. I did spend a couple of days doing weighted push ups. 200 reps one day and 250 reps next session. Added weight was 25lbs. Anyway, today's workout:

    Squat
    135lbs x10
    225lbs x3
    315lbs x3

    345lbs x1
    385lbs x10

    Chin Up
    10 reps

    Pull Ups
    10 reps

    Pull Ups (Neutral Grip)
    10 reps

    Incline Bench Press
    135lbs x5
    175lbs x10,x9,x5

    Close Grip Bench (EZ Bar)
    65lbs x15
    95lbs x20
    115lbs x15
    135lbs x5

Finished with leg extensions. I tried to focus on volume this session since I haven't been to the gym in almost 2 weeks.
