Roughly between T4-T8. The sensation is chronic stiffness which can temporarily be relieved by a good cracking. Relief is only temporary and a general achiness soon returns to the area. This has been a persistent problem since before SS and is no better or worse since I started the NLP 6 months ago.

The discomfort never raises to the level of pain, but it is present most of the time.

Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions for long term relief? I have no history of back injury and the discomfort comes seemingly at random and persists for days before fading. It does not prevent me from being active and does not adversely affect sleep. Just general, nearly constant discomfort.

I had upper back problem (stiff, painful to stretch muscles) for years until I ruined it further by extreme overworking at computer. Upper back mobility/decompression seems like the only thing to manage this. Massage like one with lacrosse balls can help for layers closer to surface, but for deep things near the spine (and I messed up a deep thing) feels like movement/stretch is the only way to target them
