The majority of low back tweaks correct themselves in 2 weeks. Are you wearing a belt when you train, and are you doing situps/back extensions?
I'm a 22 year old man and my low back started hurting after deadlifting heavy last Monday
It was a heavy weight for me (340 for 3 singles) but not one that I have not performed before.
Everything felt fine during the workout but after the workout that same evening my low back started hurting pretty bad.
It mostly hurts during flexion, contracting my abs real hard and I looked up something called the SLUMP test that seems to exactly cause and exacerbate the symptoms.
I continued deadlifting and squatting with reduced loads since rest doesn't help anything with most injuries but it doesn't really feel like it got a lot better.
No tingling/numbness/burning or anything radiating to my legs or other areas
I'm worried that this is something serious like a slipped/herinated disc because I know how my backs feels when it's muscle soreness and this isn't it.
What would be the best way to go about this and after how much time should I go see a doctor if symptoms do not improve?
Grateful for any advice or help!

I do wear a belt when I train and I also make sure to do a proper Valsalva.
Not doing any situps or back extensions, Just Squats Deadlifts and presses.
Is this considered a tweak even though there was no pop/acute moment where I could feel the pain in ?
I'll keep it loaded with lighter weights but what do I do if this does not get any better in 2-3 weeks ?
It will be better in 2 weeks.
Helps ease my mind a bit, Thank you Mark
I'll update how this is in 2 weeks
Update : I kept increasing the weight on the deadlifts and the squats bit by bit and it did get better
It's definitely still painful and sensitive in the same positions though
What's a reasonable time to expect these symptoms to go away ?
Most cases of acute back pain resolve by six weeks.
