    Update:

I didn't feel like waiting 2 weeks, so I tried calling the doctors office today to get in a same day appointment and I got one. He didn't believe me when I told him I was experiencing pain on top of my knee cap and said it must be coming from deeper in the knee. I tried a couple times to tell him what I was experiencing but he was fairly dismissive. He told me I have patellofemoral pain syndrome which he gave me a pamphlet on. Any advice on where to go from here?

Skip the primary doc and schedule an appointment with an ortho (read reviews and try to find a competent one) and make sure you get an x-ray and an MRI.

Did you learn anything about GPs?

I learned that unless you're on fire or bleeding out of your eyes or just lost a limb most GP's don't really care about your problems. I already sort of knew that, but I guess I was naively hoping mine would be in a good mood and try to help. To get a specialist appointment I need a referral so I'll have to go see him again and try and convince him to get me an appointment, and hopefully an MRI. It blows my mind, I have a history of knee injuries (torn meniscus in my right knee at 17 and an arthroscope to remove the loose cartilage, sprained right MCL 2 years ago, sprained left meniscus last year) and the man still doesn't to believe me when I say somethings not right in my body. But apparently shitty doctors are ubiquitous. Anyway, I've pissed away enough of my life at physiotherapy (which he referred me to) straightening my leg for 3 sets of 10 reps and doing fucking clam shells so I'll just keep training, and try and figure out a way to work around the pain.

You are the patient of an orthopedic surgeon. Call his office and ask for an MRI.

    An update

I called the surgeons office on Friday. Apparently, since after my last appointment with him in 2016 showed that my knee had healed from the surgery, I was discharged as a patient, and I'll need to be referred again. So I'll have to visit my meat headed GP one more time and hopefully convince him to get me an MRI and a referral.

Also, during Friday's workout, after my final set of squats, I had a strange feeling in my knee (different from the initial complaint of the post). I carried on with the workout because it didn't seem like anything catastrophic. After the workout, the funny feeling got worse and worse throughout the day. It's difficult to describe, but it's very similar to the times when I tore/sprained my meniscus in the past. Stiffness in the knee, sharp pain on the medial/posterior part of my knee, occasional clicking/locking sensation in the knee. Although this time in was gradual onset (or maybe it was acute and I just didn't notice), it was always an acute injury the other times.

Anyway I don't know what the fuck is wrong with my knees, I need an ortho. What do I do now that I'm in the middle of an NLP and have a fucked knee?

P.S. The 2 final sets that preceded this knee tweakage:

    One more update:

Tried training squats Monday really low volume (1×1, 1×3, 1×5), an idea I got from the Greysteel youtube channel which didnt cause any pain. But mid week the swelling and stiffness in my knee got worse seemingly out of the blue and Im at reduced ROM now. I guess Im layed off squats and deads for a while which sucks because I was making progress every workout. Oh well, got referred to an ortho, should get in to see them within the next year or so because Canada. Ill keep training my press, bench and chins in the meantime.
