Wondering if anyone has experience training after a torn pec they didn’t get fixed.

I tore my pec, 60% of it two years ago. Needs surgery, but due to job changes and moving city I couldn’t go ahead with the surgery. And being a single income household right now, I can’t afford to take leave and have it done.

Has anyone ever had experience with this?

Before I tore it my best bench was 325.
    A year ago 245.
Few weeks ago 225, but benching makes me nervous so I have only been benching recently regularly. Doing NLP on 165x3x5 as of yesterday

What did you do immediately after the injury, in the following days, weeks, months?
And out of curiosity, how did you tear it?

It was two years ago, for better or worse, it has healed by now. That a surgery was needed (recommended?) back then does not automatically mean that it is still needed/recommended now.

Do you have any symptoms? Pain? Reduced range of motion?

I had surgery on mine in 1996 but it was not successful. I failed to adjust my training to the subsequent strength imbalance and now have substantial shoulder and elbow arthritis. I didn't lose that much strength. I just failed to fix an obvious problem
