An impressive deadlift for a little wormy guy. I'm glad this shit actually works or I'd be in trouble. Nice job.
Rip, I know this weight isn't entirely impressive, but I easily matched my all-time Deadlift personal record today with a pull of 405 at a bodyweight today of 163. I've been struggling with deadlift for a long time, and what worked was coaching my wife through the deadlift set-up and through her pull, then had her do the same right out of SSv.2....I hit all the points of performance and the weight went up easily.
12 weeks until my first competition. The Alaska State Powerlifting Championships where I'll be competing at 165# and Raw.

For your amusement:
I completed my squat work up today, and put 365 on and got under the bar to attempt to match my 3 rep PR from my last combine test at the OTC in Lake Placid in September. I got into position, took two steps back, completed my first rep, and then had a gym staffer force me to re rack the bar so they could move the squat rack to the other side of the gym....it took them 30 minutes to do so.
He lived?
Unfortunately it is with distinct regret that I have to admit that I did as the staffer said. I am extremely close to being banned from the gym. I have been cordially asked to leave several times for such criminal acts as:
1) performing "dangerous" Olympic lifts when the gym is not equipped to handle such lifts (albeit I was performing said lifts with bumper plates and a platform)
2) Not utilizing a spotter while front squatting
3) Not sharing the squat rack with another patron (in my defense, the patron had a bag full of rings that he wished to put on the rack to turn it into some sort of fucking jungle gym)
4) Benching without a spotter and not using clamps while doing so
5) Bringing my own chalk into the gym
Now, since my garage gym is missing a squat rack and I'm not inclined to spend $2000 on one, the garage gym will have to wait until I move back to the lower 48 this year. As much as I would have liked to split his head open with a 45lb plate, I have no choice but to make nice with the staff.
I'm assuming due to your reference to "the lower 48" that you in Alaska, william. Are you in Anchorage? I'm up there a lot and have always had good luck at Southside Strength and Fitness. They let me use chalk and have a few racks.
