The platform is old and has a pair of plate-shaped holes there. The .40-inch mats keep the holes from getting deeper. So I get about 1/4-inch net lift. Both of my big platforms need to be fixed.
Hey Rip,
I am not trying to be antagonistic with this question, just genuinely curious. Why do you have the weights sitting on mats a little higher than your feet on your recent 500 lb deadlift? I'm sure they are only .5" or .75" mats and that you could deadlift that weight regardless, which is why it made me wonder. Is that platform not solid enough to lower the weights onto without the extra protection? Thanks, and good lift.
Bob

Great pull man!! Excellent work!
Not a great pull, but at least I actually train.
Looks like that little belt is your new deadlifting belt. I remember the earlier thread and discussion and wondered what you had finally decided.
It's a 2.5-incher, feels like a cheesewire. I really need a 3".
Ok, maybe I'm blind. I tried googling it, where can one see this video? Sounds impressive.
Love ya, Rip, but you still have shit taste in music!
