Yeah, you've probably addressed this question!
As a 64 year old noobie 2 months into the nlp (no not the mind control stuff), what is the reason for not alternating week by week the squat/deadlift rep/set scheme. Week A Squats 3 sets of 5- Mon Wed Fri
DL 1 set of 5- Mon Wed Fri
Week B DL 3 sets of 5- Mon Wed Fri
Squats 1 set of 5- Mon Wed Fri

Because deadlifts don't like it when novices do them for multiple sets.
