    Great article. Since the beginning of the summer, I've had my 13 year old daughter (currently modified soccer) doing a SS type training (deads, squats, bench, lat pulls and press to come soon). I have noticed that her 5 rep and 3 rep maxes are eerily close. This is more so true in upper body than in deads and squat.

    On a related note, at a bodyweight of 127, she has hit a set of 150 X 5 on deads (80 start), 123 squats (35 pound bar to start) and 72 bench(35 pound bar to start) and her confidence and performance has spiked! This is despite being on swimming, water ballet and summer basketball league and a mid summer appendectomy...Good Stuff!!!!! She is very excited by the gains and about soon squatting "a plate" on each side. She can't wait to see how much more awesome she is in basketball this winter.
