Indeed, because outside the States, they do this stuff openly and don’t pretend they are behaving from a place of moral superiority. As such, they see it clearly when it happens.

I’ve said it before; I’m more and more convinced I was utterly wrong about Berlusconi in the idiocy of my youth.

A nice piece on The Science from City Journal: Unscientific American | City Journal

American journalism has never been very good at covering science. In fact, the mainstream press is generally a cheap date when it comes to stories about alternative medicine, UFO sightings, pop psychology, or various forms of junk science. For many years, that was one factor that made Scientific American’s rigorous reporting so vital. The New York Times, National Geographic, Smithsonian, and a few other mainstream publications also produced top-notch science coverage. Peer-reviewed academic journals aimed at specialists met a higher standard still. But over the past decade or so, the quality of science journalism—even at the top publications—has declined in a new and alarming way. Today’s journalistic failings don’t owe simply to lazy reporting or a weakness for sensationalism but to a sweeping and increasingly pervasive worldview.

It is hard to put a single name on this sprawling ideology. It has its roots both in radical 1960s critiques of capitalism and in the late-twentieth-century postmodern movement that sought to “problematize” notions of objective truth. Critical race theory, which sees structural racism as the grand organizing principle of our society, is one branch. Queer studies, which seeks to “deconstruct” traditional norms of family, sex, and gender, is another. Critics of this worldview sometimes call it “identity politics”; supporters prefer the term “intersectionality.” In managerial settings, the doctrine lives under the label of diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI: a set of policies that sound anodyne—but in practice, are anything but.
I used to subscribe to Scientific American, but dropped it about 20 years ago since I already had access to Newsweek.

Is what Dr Phil right in saying this is more than a n attack on Trump, but on the whole country? I find is difficult to grasp that "book keeping" can be become a felony.

Literally all of those things quoted in the article are just schools of marxism, which isn't mentioned once in the article.

It seems to me to be a sort of propaganda. More people are jumping in from the center and right with their own information ops. I suppose it's a step in the right direction, but it's also not accurate. Trump is not the new movement or party. Trump is the avatar of American Populism's rage, and if the establishment strikes him down... well... there will be no more cork on the bottle. It's all coming out, though likely not at once. They're obviously wrenching HARD on the same levers of power they have sunk decades into establishing and becoming used to, but it has yet to settle in that it's not working like it did.

Again, these are not terribly devious or smart people. Tucker Carlson's interview with Shawn Ryan was largely in line with my own experiences. A long, but refreshingly personal and honest interview. Many of Shawn's are, and I recommend them for the listener who's into that and doesn't mind the time investment.

A question regarding oil prices and US production:

I was told that Biden put in restrictions that cut us oil production, hence leading to the absurd prices we have been experiencing since he got into office. A liberal friend of mine sent me this article stating that we have been producing more oil under Biden than trump, and in fact produce the most oil in the world. Wtf is going on with oil prices then; why did prices rise so quickly and stay high under Biden?

    Here’s the article:

    Thomas Massie on Tucker:

    Tucker: What's an AIPAC person?
Massie: It's like your babysitter. Your AIPAC babysitter who's always talking to you for AIPAC. They're probably a constituent in your district, but they are firmly embedded in AIPAC.
Tucker: Every member has something like this?
Massie: That's how it works on the Republican side. And whent hey come to DC, you go have lunch with them. And they've got your cell number, and you have converstations with them.
    Tucker: That's absolutely crazy.
What's the problem? Jews just have higher IQs and work harder than everyone else. If they can occupy foreign governments through tricks of influence, money, and propaganda, more power to them! Clearly they are just the best suited candidates for the job.

If you step back and think about it, is the real American populist right wing anywhere close to having a movement or even a "rage"? It definitely has a lot of complaints. It has a million websites and YouTube channels documenting the left's most recent hypocrisy (insert Tucker's open-mouthed, faux bewildered-confounded stare). A movement, which goes beyond party politics, is decades away. We'll probably be dead by then.

Trump was all of that in 2016. He harnessed a lot of political energy and drove a message forward, but he has served his purpose. For heritage Americans, conservative Americans, White Americans... a Trump presidency is actually the worse of the two elderly evils.

Here in the UK we are about to endure 4 years of a leftwing Labour government. They will increase replacement level mass immigration, which the Conservative Party just set a record for at over a million per year. As a lifelong Conservative voter, I couldn't be happier. The best possible thing for the people of the British Isles is the extinction of the Conservative Party. We need to focus on a horizon greater than 4 years away. Vote, or spoil your ballot - it literally doesn't matter.

Ryan is a former CIA contractor and Carlson's father, a mainstream conservative figures, was also former CIA. Can you have an honest interview with someone who is former CIA, and is there even such a thing as "former" foreign intelligence?

That Shawn Ryan interview of Tucker is excellent. I think Tucker credits Shawn Ryan's podcast with playing a role in his own "radicalization". Tucker is not the same guy we followed a few years ago.

While I'm here, I'll also recommend Tucker's recent interview of Rep. Thomas Massie...a very impressive guy I knew nothing about. The section on Offgrid living is fascinating.
