Your advice on Injury rehab helped quite a bit, and after completing 8 weeks of novice training, here is my current workout. I would like to increase my big three numbers to possibly compete in a local power lifting meet before I am too old to drive. How does this program look to you.
Monday
Volume
Squat 298 X 5 X 5
Bench 256 X 5 X 5 Alternate weekly with Press 147 X 5 X 5
DL 381 X 5 X 5
Wednesday
Light
Squat 276 X 5 X 2
Press 122 X 5 X 2 Alternate weekly with Bench 240 X 5 X 2
PC 135 X 5 X 2
Friday
HVY
Squat 344 X 5 X 1
Bench 301 X 5 X 1 Alternate weekly with Press 176 X 1 X1
PC 205.5 X 1 X 1
Also, some pullups and (don't tell anyone) a few curls

Not that you were asking for my opinion, but you might be careful with the
Deads for 5x5 on Monday. I'm assuming you mean sets across. Might be better to Clean on Monday for 5-6 x 3, then to DL on Friday for 1 x 5. Just my two cents.

Sorry for the typo,
Deadlifts on Monday are 381 X 5 X 1,
How do you feel about the deadlifts on the same day as the volume day for the other lifts?,
And you are correct sir, I tried to take it right out of the book.
