The only thing FB is useful for these days is the FB Marketplace, and all you need for that is a fake account.
Permanent deletion takes 30 days. It may be that it will show up until then.
It will take awhile. I deleted mine back in April. When I got furloughed from work i didn’t want to see any crap about the election or anything about Covid. I just logged off of Facebook and Twitter. Then I just deleted it. Then went back to work at the last of July. Never logged back on and have not missed it.
I get my drama from YouTube and IG now.
I hate Facebook because it’s a lefty virtue signalling race to the bottom. I’m a Brit and I supported and continue to support Brexit because I want my country to be free and independent, but dare I reveal that on Failbook? No, mainly because it’s full of bloody remoaners begging for another referendum to be held until the ‘correct’ answer is arrived at. I lost count of the amount of virtue signalling vegans, remainers and socialists I had to block, while feeling that I couldn’t express my views freely without being labeled a ‘racist’ or a Neanderthal. Fuck Failbook! I should get off there really but there are still some friends on there who haven’t become insufferable.
I deleted my personal accounts for social media. Literally there is no good that comes from it. Not to get to much into the woods, but good studies have shown social media serves actually no benefit to the user. The adverse consequences to USING social media are well documented.

I agree with the gentleman’s choice.
Good choice for a variety of reasons. Watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix. You'll cancel Twitter and stop using Google as well and probably lots of other search engines. You'll also change your viewing habits on YouTube (NEVER click on a recommended video!)
Ignore the social justice crap and focus on the wisdom. I discovered it through Rogan's podcast where he interviewed Tristan Harris.
