Note that the IBA banned the two from competing based on XY chromosomes. But the IOC doesn't recognise the IBA because they are Russian and Russia is bad.

For those of you engaging others on this topic ... here and elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure the Algerian boxer is one of the weird intersex types, that's why you'll see where people are saying they are a girl.

IIRC, at some other event she was tested chromosome wise and came out as XY....and another place her testosterone levels came back too high for a female (i.e. maybe a PED violation)

She was assigned a female at birth though. So the 'defenders' of this athlete will say she is a girl, and this isn't even a Trans-issue.

I think what this person is, is one of those intersex types that (likely) has a VJayJay, no penis, but is awfuly male looking....something in between. They sometimes have these pea-sized pseudotesticles inside thier body around their uterus (if they have one). These "organettes" are cranking out testosterone, much more than what a normal woman would have. These people probably have the normal amount of receptors that a women would have .... but have way more test. So they are much more manly and athleticly endowed that 99.999% of "cis women".

You won't get any confirmation on any of this stuff, because of HIPPA, etc....unless the athlete wants to disclose all this shit publicly. The athlete and her handlers might discuss this privately with the feds, but it not going to do her/he/it any good to put it out into public.

The 800m runner from a few years back was like this.
This is what I THINK is going on.
    Caster Semenya - Wikipedia

    Intersex condition
Although Semenya was assigned female at birth,[18][19] she has the intersex condition 5α-Reductase 2 deficiency (5-ARD).[10][11][18] This condition only affects genetic males with XY chromosomes. Individuals with 5-ARD have normal male internal structures that are not fully masculinised during the development of the reproductive system in utero, due to low levels of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). As a result, the external genitalia may appear ambiguous or female at birth.[20][21][22]

Semenya has said that she was born with a vagina and internal undescended testes, but that she has no uterus or fallopian tubes and does not menstruate.[11][23][24] Her internal testes produce natural testosterone levels in the typical male range.[11][25] Semenya has rejected the label of "intersex", calling herself "a different kind of woman."[25]
Either way, she should be banned, or, on a fuckton of hormone blockers.

I do feel bad for intersex people, must be very isolating. But the default status of putting them in whatever division they feel like is not appropriate because it means 50% of the population could end up in an athletic competition where they are unfairly crushed or at worst badly hurt.

    .
Please don't use this ridiculous, meaningless language.
Doctors and politicians do not have the power to assign a gender; it is an innate property of the creature.

If the man is intersex, he can compete in the open division; he does not get to beat up women as a god-given right for being a deformed male.

There is no "Open" division. There should be.

I agree that in the vast majority of cases, sex is "observed" at birth and not "assigned." But this tiny number of intersex (or DSD) persons really do have sex either wrongly "observed" or "assigned" based on external characteristics. If a newborn does not have a penis it will be assumed to be female and will be raised as a female until features and development uncharacteristic of a female begin to show at puberty. I cannot blame a person who has been raised female but who does not have a uterus and has undescended testicles for competing as a female. In fact, such a person may have much difficulty fitting in and turn to sport for self-esteem. I blame the sanctioning organizations for allowing such a person to compete as a female.

Described as or assumed to be female at birth would be an accurate use of the English language.
Assigned is a word intentionally chosen to promote the marxist theory that gender is a mutable social construct.

He is what he is; he has a Y chromosome, so he is a malformed or deformed male.
Let him compete with the men if he is good enough.
Not everybody is born to be a competitive athlete.

Finally, the Crux of the issue. The real problem for the Left; not everybody is equal in terms of outcome, and never will be. But the farce must be maintained, and if we kill a few women in the process, well, we've been killing women a long time and it seems to be okay.

Paris Olympics: boxer offers apology to Imane Khelif after ‘trans’ controversy | South China Morning Post

The Chinese media is of the opinion that the Algerian is really a girl. And the Italian girl is sorry.

Italian boxer Angela Carini said she wants to apologise to Imane Khelif following the controversy which surrounded their fight.

Carini abandoned their bout after 46 seconds and the decision was followed by global outrage, particularly on social media with accusations Khelif, a biological woman with a higher testosterone level, was trans.

“All this controversy makes me sad,” Carini told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. “I’m sorry for my opponent, too. If the IOC (International Olympic Committee) said she can fight, I respect that decision.”

After receiving a punch to head, Carini went to her corner and said: “She really hurt me, I don’t want to carry on,” before abandoning the bout.

And during the confirmation of Khelif’s victory, Carini repeated the words: “It’s not right.”
Just don't watch the Olympics. They have been destroyed, and your time is better spent with porn.

Is this situation really as clear cut as chromosomes? I'm not sure about this specific individual and I'm not sure how you would go about devising a test or set of tests to decide either way but there's intersex individuals with xy chromosomes who can give birth? Now, that extra testosterone is coming from somewhere and often there are pseudo testicles in the mix. So maybe this is all it comes down to but I feel like these intersex people are being treated the same as a trans female which doesn't really seem like the same case to me.

This the same thing as when they claim a man can get pregnant?

Yes, it really is that simple, and you would have been thrown in an insane asylum for suggesting otherwise before our nosedive into clown world cultural Marxism.
If they have a Y chromosome, they are male; this is the biological and genetic definition for humans.
Doesn't matter if they have XXY genotype, chromosome mosaicism or some other exotic defect.
If the Y chromosome is present, they are male, no matter what their other deformities or phenotype may be.

The similarity to trannies is that both cases represent either a deformed or malformed male.
