Robert Santana is a Starting Strength Coach and a Registered Dietitian who currently trains clients in the greater Phoenix area. He is the owner of Weights & Plates, a company that focuses on balancing strength, performance, and health. He is also the Head Nutrition Coach for Starting Strength Online Coaching where he provides Nutrition Coaching and oversees a team of coaches under his supervision.
For the past 16 years Robert has developed and refined his knowledge, skills, and experiences through both higher education and practical experience. Robert holds both a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Master of Science in Kinesiology. He is currently working on his PhD in Exercise Science & Nutrition where he is conducting scientific studies on the impact of barbell training on cardiovascular health.
He built upon his foundational knowledge by coaching the barbell lifts through application of the Starting Strength model as well as providing effective nutritional coaching to help lifters achieve their performance and/or body composition goals.
