- I've trained with weights for 28 years, ever since watching Pumping Iron when I was 12 years old. Unfortunately, that "motivation" got me into a lot of trouble in my teens and twenties as I constantly over-trained and over-worked.
Over the last ten years, things have been better, much better. But still, despite exercising with "good form", it did not occur to me that I was...
a) Exercising the wrong lifts, and
b) Not using PROPER form (good form doesn't count if it's not the right way to do it)
So yes ... now, I'm smarter. It took a long time to get here, but I'm here.
The bottom line is that by going back to basics, I am hoping that I can build a decent amount of strength and conditioning, despite all the wear and tear I've inflicted on myself over previous years, particularly in my poor rotator-cuff.
