Fish oil has helped me in the past also, with shoulder problems and the cause sounding very similar to yours. But Krill Oil works better for me, if you can give that a try instead of the fish oil. Kirkland KO from Costco is cheaper and as good as any other I've tried.

Press really helped w/ the injury, so much so that I could Bench pain-free again, but occasionally I still get flare-ups and just fire-up the Krill Oil, and also take a short break from heavy Bench. Break from Benching aside, I'm convinced the KO also helps.

Here is my update after a few days. The diclofenac gel (Voltaren) with DMSO didn't have staying power. I still woke up to a hip throbbing away, but I did manage initially to get to sleep a tiny bit better than with just naproxen. But last night I took a couple of naproxen at around 9 pm, then slathered on a good amount of DMSO followed by a slightly greater than recommended amount of the diclofenac gel. The DMSO caused a little irritation at first but I was able to fall asleep pretty quickly and would probably have slept through the night if not for the wife's snoring (sinus issues). I don't know that I will keep this up for long. I prefer not to take so much of the NSAIDs.
