I struggle to eat. My 54kg girlfriend finishes the same meals in half the time it takes me. My "natural" diet is probably 1800ish calories. I can push that to 2500-2700 with lots of effort.

I tried drinking milk every meal but it made things worse, because it completely ruins my appetite for the rest of day.

So I found a great trick (or so I thought): every dayafter I finish my dinner, I sit my ass on the couch and just sip on milk for the next 2h. Voilą, 4000 calories.

I thought it was genius. But then reading through Jordan's posts and article, I discovered about MPS and that one should wait 3-5h between meals. That's definitely NOT what I'm doing here.

So the question is: should I stop doing this? Keep doing it just for the calories, knowing it's not efficient MPS-wise?

Cheers and sorry for the longish post

You're not eating enough so I would probably not "sip", but just increase the size of your meals. You will be uncomfortable, but this is the process of gaining weight.

I was afraid you might say that... ok I will try to reach 4500cals. Regarding milk, alright with spacing 2-4 pints a couple hours after dinner?

I would drink a pint with each meal and up titrate as needed. Hard to recommend saving a lot of cals for after dinner since you'll need to eat more in general.

Goddamit I lost 2kg this week.

Alright just another couple question for you. What is the very least amount of vegetables I can get away with in a day? What is the maximum amount of sugar/fructose you would recommend? I think eating less clean would really help with compliance.

Lastly, suppose I'm travelling for work for a couple days and I don't have access or time to the food I would eat normally. What is the most important in that situation: hitting my calorie target, or hitting my protein target?

    Thank you so much Jordan

Your questions aren't easily answerable, but in general:

    1) I would eat veggies 2x/day minimum.

    2) I have no max on sugar or fructose. It's a grey area for me.

    3) I think hitting a protein and cals would be the two goals I would recommend. Adjust fat and carbs based on what's available to eat.
