Hello Jordan, searching the forums, I noticed you recommended to do 3x5 for VD while cutting on TM. How should weekly weight progression proceed? For the Squat for example, should I continue to attempt to add 5 lbs a week, what should I do once these stall? Should I progress at lower than 5 lbs?

I also assume Intensity says should be cycled between 5s, 3s, 2s and singles as needed?

Im referring to this thread. Your post in it says to do 3x5 for VD if cutting weight. If your opinion has changed since then, is there anything you recommend? I'm an early intermediate, best Squat is 330 x 5

Fair enough. I don't think it's a bad option, but I'd probably keep volume between 3-5 sets, probably higher for you.

Okay sounds great, I'll stick with sets of 4 or 5.

My plan is to do a 500 cal deficit 5 days out of the week, and a 2 days of calorie surplus of about 200 - 250, Using IIFYM 35p/40c/25f.

Given that, how should I progress with weights? still 5 pounds a week until I'm stuck then deload and work my way back up all while cycling intensity 5, 3, 2, singles?

I don't think I would do 2 days of surplus if you're trying to get lean. I'd do a smaller deficit, 300ish 7x/wk.

Not sure what your macros turn out to be w that approach either, but looks higher in fat.

I'm also not sure how you should progress outside of add weight weekly 2.5-5lbs. I wouldn't cycle the intensity weekly, however. I'd just plan to hit a really heavy set on ID every week and add weight there.

300 a day sounds better, only concern is it's such a small deficit I'm afraid to approximate my cals wrong and go over.

I saw this in andys forum earlier about a heavy top set follow by 3 to 4 back off sets for VD. What do you think about that?

It's a find modification after 5x5 across starts to get too grindy.
