You are definitely a strong lifter and a strong lifter over 40 at that. I'd imagine a 5 x 5 squat would smoke you at that load. A 27 year old female I trained years back comes to mind. She was about your height and weight who was pushing similar numbers and she definitely could not do 5 x 5 squats without tanking her deadlift. It's a delicate balance at this point. I just listened to the first episode as well and I totally agree—it was fantastic! I loved how you guys delved into physique goals within the SS framework. And the discussion on Schwarzenegger’s Encyclopedia was a nice touch; I remember reading it as a teenager and it definitely had a huge impact on me too.

Appreciate it and glad you went back to the first ones. Arnold was correct broadly speaking when it came to novices. He knew the big lifts got the majority of the job done but those fuckers overtrained so much that the programming, while correct conceptually, was too much for most.
We recently moved to YouTube and added video. Working on getting the old episodes up there first then dropping all new with video (70 onward) thereafter. Enjoy.
