Yes. Eat more than 170 carbs.
I'm 5'10", ~250lbs at ~28% bodyfat.
I eat 2264 calories a day.
170g carbs
198g protein
88g fat
With 5 or 6k steps a day on average.
I am working my way up from a deload from not training for 2 weeks due to life circumstances. My most recently completed lifts are:
Squat: 280lb 3x5 (from 305lbs)
Bench: 140lb 3x5 (from 165lbs)
Press: 105lbs 3x5 (from 115lbs, though I couldn't get 3 sets of 5)
Deadlift: 315lbx3
My bench, deadlift, and press all were stalling at the pre deload numbers, and while some of it is technique I wonder if I'm not eating enough. To be honest I'm pretty embarrassed how low they are for my bodyweight.
I get at least 7 hours of sleep a night most of the time, ideally 8. So I don't think sleep is the issue. Which makes me wonder if I'm not eating enough.
Any advice?
Yes. Eat more than 170 carbs.
Thank you for the reply.
Should I decrease my protein to make room for more carbs (something like 198g carb 170 protein, and I've even been recommended going something like 221g carb 147g protein) to stay at the same caloric intake, or just increase carbs and calories?
How much more? Should I cut protein down to 170g and carbs up to 198g? I've asked around and even seen people suggesting going all the way down to 147g protein and 221g carbs to focus on losing fat.
Cut the fat down to make room.
