I tried today. I could only do three. Three half-assed chins - maybe got my nose level with the bar.

    I can't do any unassisted. (68 y/o). I'm doing 3x10 with band assist.

Its my real weak point. I can only do 3x3 with assist band, none without. I hate it, thats why I seldom do them.

Default Chin up in my finisher

I'm 62 and I use chin ups in one of my finisher routines.
    8 chin ups
    6 front squats with 3 x 35 kettle bells

    repeat 3 times

keeps me young and handsome (:

Last time I tried chin ups, about a year ago, I couldn't get my feet off of the floor. I must try this again.

Still doing them at 58. I could always easily knock off 10, but at the four week point of SS I can only manage 6 after 'picking things up and putting them down'.

61and 203 here. I suspended gymnastic rings from my ceiling and do 30 body weight pull ups on my Monday routine. My sets are AMRAP and last week I did 9/9/7/5. I alternate these in with my bench presses to save time. I've been coming back from a shoulder injury for about 8 weeks and was very cautious about pull ups initially but found them to not be painful. I plan to start adding weight soon. BTW I fought my way into these things initially by jumping up and slowly lowering myself down 5x. Recently read that Rip says they improve with deadlifts too.
It's interesting to me how some of us (me) can't put up impressive numbers on squats but can do high numbers on another exercise, and other geezers are squatting 300+ but have low pull up or shoulder press numbers. Why is that?
