Quite a title there. All I could think of at first blush was Perry White.

The first paragraph is worth the price of admission.

Great article! Thanks.
I was surprised there was no mention that the dumb ass simply reads this crap off the teleprompters.
Yep, pretty damn good.
That first paragraph was a verbal kick in the balls. Love it.
I quit watching SOTUs' years ago because they are so overwhelmed with nauseating political theater. I agree that they're a sign of a class that has so much self-importance they can no longer tell reality from their own contrived fiction. Much better to get the recap of anything potentially important in print.
On the other hand...is there *anything* that writer found that couldn't offend and outrage him? I thought he was about to be completely outraged by the color of the carpets next.
THAT sentence ALONE is worth the click. It’s the most nauseating display in American public life — and I write that as someone who has just returned from a pornographers’ convention.
Of course, the whole thing (in DC) is a pornographer's convention in which two parties, representing nothing but their own interests to gain or retain power, divvy up the spoils of OUR collective ass-raping.
Holy Hell. Why is it THAT expensive??The president’s household costs well more than $1 billion annually to operate.
I don't care what your political affiliations are, the state of the union is a complete crock. The president says something extremely vague and meaningless like "we must push forward through the will of the American people" and half the representatives stand and applaud, the other half sit. What a joke.
