Little Update and question
Hi Andy,
This is an update to a question I had three months ago.
Since then I had this progress:
Squat: 107.5 kg -- 138 kg
Press: 54.5 kg -- 60 kg
Deadlift: 127.5 kg -- 163 kg
My bodyweight went from 83kg to 88kg.
There was no stall on the squat and deadlift, but I'm now doing 1x5 and 2x5 backoff on the squat. Deadlift is still 1x5. So alternating between heavy squating and deadlifting while training twice a week worked well so far.
You suggested to do 5x3, 4x4, 3x5 for my stalled presses, but that didn't work for me. For example, while 4x4 was not too hard, I couldn't do the same weight for 3x5. Now I started to do 1x5 and 2x5 back off and will see how it goes, thus far it looks good. If that doesn't work anymore, I would like to try Texas Method sans light day, i.e. alternating 5x5 volume days with 1x5 + 2x5 backoff intensity days. Would that be a sensible programming progression? Bench presses and dips are not an option right now, since they give me shoulder troubles.

If you do the Texas Method, just do one of the versions in PPST3.
