5x5 is the gold standard for strength and size.

How does a LP with descending reps per set compare for relative strength for the weight class conscious.

    Such as:
    5x 80% of workout 1rm
    4x 85%
    3x 90%
    2x 95%
    1x workout 1rm

    Then add weight next workout.

So the plan would be a set of 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 at every session?

That's correct. The individuals I've seen run it typically use it for pressing movements and alternate exercises every workout. The advantage is supposedly the lower volume and higher intensity produces strength without as much growth.

    What do you think?

I get the concept completely. I've done it before with MMA guys. My only concern is working up to a 1rm at every session on the same lift. In the past I've just rotated out exercises each week. Basically a westside type template
