    Default Uneven squat - Video

    Dear Coach,

During my squat worksets my partner noticed that the bar drops down on the left, and the right side moves forward. It is uneven in two dimensions. So I taped a couple of backoff sets and here they are:

I'm not sure where I've fucked up. Please correct me. Thanks.

This is not a heinous problem. Just raise your left elbow a little. This is a small asymmetry. The bigger problem is that there is only 135 on the bar.

    Dear Coach,

I am at 275 for my worksets. Those were practice reps at the end of my session. So the problem is not due to differing shoulder flexibility? I was about shift my bar off center as you recommended in SS.

Also, how is the rest of the squat?

    Thanks for replying!

Like I said, I can't see a huge problem here. It may get worse at 275, but tiny asymmetries are common to humans. I've squatted with a crooked bar for many years due to several injuries to shoulders, back, hips, and knees. Try your best to be symmetrical, but if it causes you no problem, just train.
