For the last 6-8 months after heavy DL's my left buttock/ hip has seized up over the following few days, so I tend not to go for heavy singles all that often anymore.

It is fine with volume work and heavy 5's.

I am prepping for a comp and wanted to see where I was at with this 190kg.

Sure enough hip has flared up and now I can't budge 100 without pain.

    Can anyone see something wrong?

    Thank you!

You kick the bar forward slightly as you start to pull, but your back looks solid from what we can see from here. It is possible you shift in some way that we cannot see in the video. I think you have all the reasons you need not to pull heavy singles in training. Save them for the meet. You can probably guess what your 1 RM is to within 5 kg off your sets of five.

The bar is floating in front of his legs and regains contact only when the lift is finished. Is that because he shifts to the toes or because he doesn't commit to keeping it close?

He bumps it forward at the bottom and then it ramps off his knees a little, too.

OK......had a go with a lighter weight yesterday for 1x5.

Made a conscious effort not to ramp off the knees and to drag up the quads....all went well until I didn't and felt the back go slightly.

Finished off the set ok and no ongoing issue. We might have found the problem. A cm or two off the leg can make the difference!
