Mock competition with myself and moving forward
Hey guys. Seeing as how I'm going on vacation and taking atleast 14 days off lifting, I held a little mock competition by myself today, just because it seemed like a fun idea. I'm an early intermediate lifter just coming off advanced novice, so the numbers aren't anything to write home about, but I am proud of what I've accomplished anyway.
For squat, I went for 140kg, 145kg, and 150kg (330lbs) on the final attempt. This is the lift I got completely wrong. All these lifts were way too easy, and I'm fairly certain I could have pushed for 160kg on my last attempt. Something like 145kg, 152.5kg and 160kg would perhaps have been a better estimate. Oh well.
Bench I went for 105kg, 110kg and 115kg. I got 110kg (240ish lbs) very easily, and then I started doubting my ability to lift 115kg, and missed that.
Deadlift I went for 160kg, 170kg and 180kg (400ish lbs). 160kg felt hard after the other lifts, but both 170 and 180 went up pretty easily, once I got fired up and mad.
On to the actual question for you more seasoned fellas:
For the second half of 2015 I have two goals:
1) Squat 170kg, deadlift 200kg and bench 120kg
2) Lose 15kg body weight. I'm carrying fairly large amounts of fat, so I'm hoping it'll be possible without losing too much strength in the process.
Should I do the diet and lose the body weight coming back from vacation, or eat like proud stallion and get my lifts to my goals (I'm hoping this is doable in 3 months, so I'll have the next 3ish months to diet), and then get the bodyfat off? I don't particularly care which way around I do it, but I'm thinking the 14 days off lifting now during vacation might play into it somehow.

I just came back from vacation. One thing to consider is that if you do not lift during your vacation you are most likely going to detrain. 2 weeks of detraining may take you longer than you think to regain your current strength. Longer to surpass it.
