    Default Press cue

    • starting strength seminar october 2024
    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    What do you think of the following cue during the press: "Show your armpits to the wall in front of you" for the purpose of preventing excessive internal rotation at lockout?

    I prefer cues that involve tits.

    stupid question ... do i have to avoid rotation? and how do you excessively rotate anything (shoulder?) while shrugging a heavy weight towards the ceiling?

    It seems to me that internally excessively rotating your humerus near lockout will cause the elbow to drift behind the bar(assuming the bar is in line with the scapulae. I don't know a great deal about the matter though.

    So would bending your elbows at the top. Don't do this.
