Default Back much better after pops while hanging from chin-up bar - but what was it?

    Dear coaches,

two or three weeks ago, I woke up with a tight back. It didn't really hurt, but it felt really tight, and I had some minor pain when I tilted my pelvis or tried to reach my toes. INothing that prevented me from training though - after which it was always better for about 1 day. It wasn't the first episode of this stiffness (had it even before I started lifting). It was always gone some time later and I didn't think much about it.

Nonetheless this time I started hanging from the chin-up bar to see what it would do - and after my fifth or sixth session something in my lumbar spine popped / snapped twice. Gone was the stiffness.

I'm not experienced with back injuries or back pain and I'd like to know what might have happened or might have been wrong. I'm not asking for a diagnosis, but maybe you could tell me some possible or even likely conditions as starting points for further investigation. In case it happens again. Which it probably will.

    Thanks!
