    Default Squat/Deadlift Check

I'll try and keep this brief. For the past three weeks I've been doing 5 heavy singles on intensity day for the deadlift after I missed reps with sets of 5. On the third week, I failed the first rep at 385 with two attempts. That same intensity day I squatted a fairly easy 375x5. I asked Andy for programming advice on the issue and he suggested that my deadlift should be much higher relative to my squat at those numbers and that something may be wrong with my form. Do you see anything that is bad enough to cause my weak deadlift? Any other form tips would be appreciated as well. I apologize in advance for the shitty camera angles; I don't have much space to work with.

Please note that I'm doing high bar squats due to fucked up elbows.

Your deadlift is not perfect -- note the slight back angle change as you start the pull -- but it's not bad enough to account for this disparity in SQ/DL. The first rep you missed looked like a puss-out to me. You just stopped pulling on it. And it didn't look like a grip issue. Andy is right about the ratio. It may be time to start the Halting/Rack Pull method.

Yeah, you're right. Felt that way too. Thanks for the advice.

So out of curiosity, what could possibly account for the shitty ratio?

Ouch. Okay, I see what I need to do.
