    Default Another Form check request. Deadlift.

    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    • starting strength seminar february 2025
    • starting strength seminar april 2025
    Last set for the day. At the moment I am doing the Wendler 5/3/1.

    I think it looks fine once you get it off the floor, but your set-up procedure is not what Rip would consider ideal. Watch how your hips come up just as the bar leaves the floor. Also, are you breathing at the top? The breath should be held for the entire rep.

    Thanks for a quick reply. Indeed I do breath at the top. Dunno why!! Will stop that!

    When I said this: " Watch how your hips come up just as the bar leaves the floor." I should have expanded to say that your hips should have been in that position originally (the position you put them in *just* as the bar broke off the ground).

    Nice set. Steve is right, you're hips "hitch" up before the bar comes off the ground

    Bar path is S-shaped on the way up and on the way down.

    Your knees are getting in the way when you're setting the bar down, which means the bar is moving away from you every time. It then has to move backwards as you pull it off the floor. Set the bar down by bending at the hips first, then the knees. Make sure the bar is against your shins at the start of each rep.
